Computer Technology
A beginner-friendly, project-based introduction where younger students create with coding, digital design, games, robotics, and other interactive technology tools.
MYTEK LAB is an approved vendor on Step Up For Students EMA. Enroll your child in live or flex-paced, WASC-accredited technology classes using your Florida FES-EO, FES-UA, Hope, or Florida Tax Credit scholarship.
Step Up For Students administers Florida's largest school-choice scholarships, providing funds that parents control and can spend on approved educational expenses, including online courses, curriculum, tutoring, and technology education programs through MyScholarShop.
Florida is one of the broadest school-choice states in the country, offering several distinct scholarships that all work with EMA: FES-EO (Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Options), FES-UA (Family Empowerment Scholarship for Students with Unique Abilities), the Hope Scholarship, and the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship.
Always verify current award amounts and eligibility requirements directly at stepupforstudents.org, as program details change.
Florida families can use their FES-EO, FES-UA, Hope, or FTC scholarship funds to pay for MYTEK LAB courses directly through EMA.
MYTEK LAB is also a WASC-accredited technology education program, which means our courses meet rigorous academic quality standards and qualify for elective credit at the middle and high school level.
MYTEK LAB's live, flex-paced, certification, and seasonal technology courses can be purchased using your Florida scholarship funds through EMA (live) or MyScholarShop (self-paced), subject to program approval and available funds. Here is the full course lineup:

A small selection of voluntary end-of-course reflections from MYTEK LAB students across five years and every major course, in their own words. (Reflections are from students nationwide, not Florida-specific.)
Information Technology 2 taught me lots of new skills this year! Overall, this course was very fun, and it prepared me well for where I am headed. My college I am headed to is extremely STEM focused, and I am so grateful I had a solid foundation given to me by this course.
I've taken classes with myteklab for the past three years and even though the topics and concepts are beyond hard to wrap my head around, the environment and teaching has always convinced me to stay. While the class proved difficult time and time again I felt like every accomplishment was that much sweeter.
I really enjoyed this year in IT. For me, it didn't even seem like school. Learning to program and code has always been a big dream of mine and now that I have gotten able to do it, it has been so much fun. I really can't wait for Information Technology 2 next year.
I enjoyed my 1st year/class at MYTEK so much, and will totally continue to take classes on this awesome site! The community of other students is super cool. MYTEK really inspired me to get into tech this year, and I might even be looking at pursuing a tech career!
This class has served me well and taught me a lot of important skills, such as socket.io. I really enjoyed this year and look forward to next year. I am forever grateful to be able to be enrolled in your courses!
This year has definitely been my favourite so far! I have learned so many things about coding and AI, which was my favourite module. I never thought I would be able to look at code and understand the things that I read, but over the year I learned that it is not as complicated as it seems. Thank you for inspiring me to learn and to create things I never imagined I would be able to do.
Overall, I really enjoyed Computer Science 1 and am looking forward to taking Computer Science 2. I am a lot more confident with mytekserver and linux now.
This year was CRAZY! And I loved every minute of it. Level three was challenging but great to learn! Learning how to code for real was interesting and way more fun then block coding for me!
To be completely honest, I originally only took this class because it was a required high school credit. However, I loved it and it quickly turned into one of my favorite classes I've ever taken. I'm proud to say that I'm not terrified of vim anymore like I was at the beginning!
I loved programming. I tried to program before but how they taught me did not make sense. But Mytek you made me able to understand it and not be frustrated as the other program I did. I loved the course and how it was presented.
This class has helped me tremendously when programming in engineering and also understanding many of the software programs that I have used through architecture. I am sure I will refer to much of the knowledge gained here in my college years and in my career.
Thanks so much for teaching me over the last 2 years. MyTek really helped me decide what I want to do in the future. Next year I'll be attending Purdue University with a major in Computer Science!
Many students have tried robotics clubs, Scratch, coding tutorials, or advanced applications. But participating in a technology activity is not always the same as building independent skills. MYTEK LAB gives every student a structured path to create, troubleshoot, understand, and complete projects of their own.
Learning happens by creating real projects, not just watching or clicking through tutorials.
An instructor reviews the work, answers the student's actual questions, and helps them get unstuck.
Courses build on each other so students move from first steps to genuine, independent skill.
Live students meet weekly with an experienced technology instructor. Flex-paced students work on their own schedule while still receiving structured lessons, project requirements, feedback, and support.
Very few online homeschool technology programs hold WASC accreditation. It matters for families who need courses to count for elective credit and for co-ops that vet curriculum before recommending it.
MYTEK LAB has been serving homeschool families since 2015. We are not a startup. We are an established program that Florida families have trusted for a decade.
Students are not anonymous. Instructors know their names, their learning pace, and where they need extra support.
FES-EO, FES-UA, Hope, and FTC scholarship recipients can all use MYTEK LAB through Step Up For Students EMA. We're also approved across 12+ other state scholarship programs nationwide.
Fall 2026 courses are open for enrollment. Seats are limited by class section.
Email info@myteklab.com or call (352) 577-9242. We are happy to help you choose the right course and walk you through the EMA payment process.
Beyond Florida, MYTEK LAB supports families across 13 additional state ESA, scholarship, and school-choice programs, including the Arizona ESA, Texas ESA, Georgia Promise, and Utah Fits-All Scholarship. We also partner with several charter schools in California.
If your state is not listed, contact us, we may still be able to work with your program, and we can help you submit documentation if your state allows parent-nominated vendors.
