Program Overview

What Is the Arkansas LEARNS Educational Freedom Account?

The Educational Freedom Account (EFA) was created by the Arkansas LEARNS Act of 2023. It is a state-funded education savings account available to Arkansas K-12 families. Parents control the funds and can spend them on approved educational expenses, including online courses, curriculum, tutoring, and technology education programs.

The program phased in over three years and reached universal eligibility in the 2025-26 school year, meaning it is now open to all Arkansas K-12 students. The EFA is administered by the Arkansas Department of Education and uses ClassWallet as its spending platform.

Always verify current award amounts, eligibility requirements, and application timelines directly at learns.ade.arkansas.gov, as program details change.

LEARN TOGETHER. BUILD TOGETHER. Live classes with a real instructor, interactive learning, hands-on projects, and progress feedback. Ages 8-18.

What MYTEK Lab Students Say

What MYTEK Lab Families and Students Say About Our Online Technology Classes

A small selection of voluntary end-of-course reflections from MYTEK Lab students. Five years, every major course, in their own words.

Caprie Information Technology 2 2026
Information Technology 2 taught me lots of new skills this year! Overall, this course was very fun, and it prepared me well for where I am headed. My college I am headed to is extremely STEM focused, and I am so grateful I had a solid foundation given to me by this course.
Cameron Computer Science 1 2025
I've taken classes with myteklab for the past three years and even though the topics and concepts are beyond hard to wrap my head around, the environment and teaching has always convinced me to stay. While the class proved difficult time and time again I felt like every accomplishment was that much sweeter.
Gavin Information Technology 1 2025
I really enjoyed this year in IT. For me, it didn't even seem like school. Learning to program and code has always been a big dream of mine and now that I have gotten able to do it, it has been so much fun. I really can't wait for Information Technology 2 next year.
Noah Information Technology 1 2025
I enjoyed my 1st year/class at MYTEK so much, and will totally continue to take classes on this awesome site! The community of other students is super cool. MYTEK really inspired me to get into tech this year, and I might even be looking at pursuing a tech career!
Kayden Computer Science 1 2025
This class has served me well and taught me a lot of important skills, such as socket.io. I really enjoyed this year and look forward to next year. I am forever grateful to be able to be enrolled in your courses!
Amaya Computer Science 1 2025
This year has definitely been my favourite so far! I have learned so many things about coding and AI, which was my favourite module. I never thought I would be able to look at code and understand the things that I read, but over the year I learned that it is not as complicated as it seems. Thank you for inspiring me to learn and to create things I never imagined I would be able to do.
Gavin Computer Science 1 2024
Overall, I really enjoyed Computer Science 1 and am looking forward to taking Computer Science 2. I am a lot more confident with mytekserver and linux now.
Nadia Technology Lab — Level 3 (CS lineage) 2023
This year was CRAZY! And I loved every minute of it. Level three was challenging but great to learn! Learning how to code for real was interesting and way more fun then block coding for me!
Ellie Technology Lab — Level 2 2023
To be completely honest, I originally only took this class because it was a required high school credit. However, I loved it and it quickly turned into one of my favorite classes I've ever taken. I'm proud to say that I'm not terrified of vim anymore like I was at the beginning!
Isaac Technology Lab — Level 1 2023
I loved programming. I tried to program before but how they taught me did not make sense. But Mytek you made me able to understand it and not be frustrated as the other program I did. I loved the course and how it was presented.
Winston Technology Lab — Level 2 2022
This class has helped me tremendously when programming in engineering and also understanding many of the software programs that I have used through architecture. I am sure I will refer to much of the knowledge gained here in my college years and in my career.
Adam Technology Lab — Level 3 (CS lineage) 2022
Thanks so much for teaching me over the last 2 years. MyTek really helped me decide what I want to do in the future. Next year I'll be attending Purdue University with a major in Computer Science!
