My TEK Lab is a unique cross between a technology lab and a makerspace offering children and young adults access to cutting edge technology with guided instruction and lessons in many areas of information technology.
At My TEK Lab, we focus on learning technology by using technology. We offer many engaging lessons to create, design and develop - virtually limitlessly using professional, real world tools and concepts with three distinct labs: the programming lab, the create lab and the robotics lab.

The idea for My TEK Lab has been the vision and dream of Stephen and Jacky Souders for many years. With the booming popularity and interest in technology, the incredibly affordable and robust equipment, and a thriving community, the timing is finally right for this dream to become a reality.
Jacky has over 10 years of experience teaching kids of all ages and a degree in early childhood education from Edison State College (now Florida SouthWestern State College). Over the years, Jacky has worked as an early childhood teacher and managed an after school program.
Stephen has worked in the field of information technology since he was 15 years old when he began his career by working for an ISP while still in high school. He holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Florida Gulf Coast University and a master's degree in Computer Information Systems from Kennesaw State University. Over the years, Stephen has worked specifically in the web development field, managed an Information Technology department, and taught classes at Georgia Highlands College for over 6 years.
With the perfect marriage of skills and passions, Stephen and Jacky are perfectly suited to operating My TEK Lab.
Stephen and Jacky currently reside in Clermont, Florida with their 2 young daughters Joslyn and Katelyn.
As a former student of My TEK Lab, I am now very excited to work as an employee in the place I enjoy. I have lived in Davenport, FL for the past two years. I've been homeschooling since Kindergarten and have enjoyed it ever since. After graduating from High School I am planning to go on to college and gain a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design. Being a "jack-of-all-trades" my interests and hobbies tend to be limitless. Through My TEK Lab I have found a new and strong interest in robotics and technology. Some of my current hobbies (other than tech) are volunteering at Give Kids the World, relaxing at Disney, and practically anything Star Wars.
I've lived in the Clermont area for the past 10 years. I've spent the past two years in Gainesville at the University of Florida studying aerospace and mechanical engineering. In my free time I love exercising and working out. When I'm not exercising I love to catch up on my favorite TV shows or read a good book. Another passion of mine is soccer. I have played for most of my life and I truly love the game. I've spent years playing and I’ve even been a referee.
Can adults gain access to the lab?
Parents are welcome to attend the lab with their children. Additionally, we expect to offer adult morning labs soon.
