This Live Class Summer Session has a one time price of $97.  

.io Game Development Summer Session starts at 3:30pm EST and ends at 5:00 pm EST and meets twice a week for 2 weeks.

In this 2 week long Online Summer Session, specifically designed for our older students, students will build their own .io style multiplayer video game using the programming language Javascript. .io games are HUGE with students of all ages and this camp is sure to be a popular one!At the completion of the Summer Session, students will earn a MYTEK LAB Summer Certification.


Summer Session Outline:

Days 1 and 2: Introduction to the game programming application and introduction to multi player javascript programming using websockets. Students will also begin programming the multi player game. 

Day 3: Students will program player and player behaviors using javascript as well as work with the physics engine and developing player projectiles.

Day 4: Incorporating multi player capability into the game, using server side javascript and websockets. Troubleshooting, debugging, testing and wrapping up any final unfinished projects.


Materials/requirements needed:

Laptop and or desktop computer running Windows or Mac OS.

We recommend Google Chrome for the web browser.

MYTEK LAB Parent Account and Student Account.

Zoom video conferencing software.


Your instructor is Stephen Souders, otherwise known as Mr. MYTEK.  Stephen has worked in the field of information technology since he was 15 years old when he began his career by working for an ISP while still in high school. He holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems from Florida Gulf Coast University and a master's degree in Computer Information Systems from Kennesaw State University. Over the years, Stephen has worked specifically in the web development field, managed an Information Technology department, and taught classes at Georgia Highlands College for over 6 years. Stephen and his wife, Jacky, opened MYTEK LAB. Together, they have been teaching technology education to students of all ages since February 2015.
